Description

The Master’s degree in Notarial Law is a unique, high-level program, combining classic notarial training and specific training in economics and management. The Master’s degree in Notarial Law aims to equip students with the pre-requisites for admission to high-level notarial studies in order to obtain the DESN (French post-graduate notary diploma), as governed by the decree of October 7, 2022 and the order of July 5, 2023.

This master's degree is part of the graduate program in law.

Program Objectives

  • Deepen the kinds of theoretical and practical knowledge that facilitate an understanding of the main traditional and emerging issues in notarial law
  • Be aware of evolutions in the international aspects of records
  • Gain the technical economics and management skills to exercise notarial law in a corporation in the future
  • Meet the specifications for the Master’s degree in Notarial Law, as appended to the order of July 5, 2023, on the DESN, allowing students with a Master’s degree to gain admission to post-graduate notary studies.
  • Offer an initiation to research and through research, to help prepare students for their research paper and internship report, both requirements for the notary course to obtain the DESN.
  • Develop strong ties with the professional world and the alumni network, through a class spirit that spearheads various community projects.

Admissions

Master's year 1
Prerequisites

  • Holders of a Bachelor's degree in Law (180 ETCS) or a Double Bachelor's degree in Law/Management or Law/Economics.
  • Students must have sufficient English to be able to follow technical legal instruction taught in the language.

Master's year 2
Prerequisites

  • Students who have completed a BAC+4 degree (a four-year degree worth 240 ECTS credits) or equivalent at Dauphine or another university or institution of higher education in the following areas: notarial law, general private law, corporate law, or a degree with a strong legal component
